1. What specifically is “investment management”?

2. What happens when I initiate a relationship with Robbins Wealth Management?
More details are covered in our statement on “what to expect”, but the short version is that we will begin by soliciting your objectives, preferences, and risk tolerance. We will then customize a plan uniquely to you and thoroughly discuss every aspect of it with you prior to implementation. We do not automatically sell all your current investments, unless, with your permission it is determined there is a better investment to meet your needs.

3. What is the client’s role?
Effective investment management requires a commitment from both the advisor and the client. It is your responsibility to provide us with accurate information regarding your financial situation, realistic objectives, and risk tolerance. We also need you to be transparent with us in the life transitions you are experiencing so we can best help you. We also expect you to respond to our mailings or telephone calls in a timely way as the nature of our contact will be important to your investment goals and timing may be a factor. Finally, we hope that you will enjoy the process and consider it an adventure in exploring the new possibilities and challenges that await in the future.

4. Who are your typical clients?
Our “typical” client is actually a very broad and diverse group of people. They include professionals, executives, business-owners, non-profit employees, and retirees. They range in age from their early 20s to their 90s. Their common thread is a desire to realize their long-term financial goals through a long-term financial advisor who has a history of working with families across multiple generations and through a variety of life changes.

5. Why is fee-only advice important?
Would you want to work with a lawn care company whose primary incentive is to sell you as much fertilizer and weed killer as they possibly can without regard to your level of need? If you would not seek that for something as trivial as your lawn, then why would you choose that for your hard earned invested assets? Having a fee-only advisor puts both of us in the same side of the fence. Our incentive is your incentive…to watch your assets grow as much as possible and to apply the best of our knowledge to protect the principal over time. The only person we work for is our client – period.

6. Do I need a minimum net worth to work with you?
The minimum amount you need to begin a relationship with Robbins Wealth Management is $200,000 under our management. Some new clients prefer to have us work with a portion of their assets, that exceeds this minimum, and then after having experienced our services, transfer the remaining assets at a later time. We do occasionally make an exception to this minimum amount due to an existing family link to our firm.

7. Will you work alongside my other advisors?
Yes. If you already have a relationship with an accountant, lawyer, or other professional advisor whom you trust, we will gladly partner with them in coordinating your financial life?

8. Is there any penalty if I decide to stop working with Robbins Wealth Management?
There is no penalty should you decide to terminate your relationship with our firm. In our contract with you, it states that our “fee clock” stops ticking 30 days after we receive written notification from you that termination is your desire. It goes almost without saying that investments will behave differently under a broad range of market conditions. You should give any advisor 1-2 years to show what they are capable of.
