Investment Philosophy

“The past does not repeat itself, but it rhymes.”

~ Mark Twain

Although we customize our investment plans for each client, we do adhere to certain philosophies in general. We lean towards a value-orientation with a modified buy-and-hold strategy that emphasizes long-term planning. Based upon our own independent research, we may use no-load mutual funds, individual stocks, individual bonds, treasury securities, certificates of deposit, exchange traded fund, or closed end funds to enhance our client’s returns.

The world is becoming increasingly flat with respect to both trade and investment opportunities. We maintain a global view when considering any investment or investment class.

With respect to individual stocks, we typically recommend companies with solid sales and earnings growth, good profitability, products that we perceive to be long-term winners, and a P/E (price/earnings) multiple on the middle to low-end of its 5-year historical range.

When searching for mutual funds, closed end funds, and exchange traded funds, we look at several variables including manager tenure, track record, internal expense ratio, and risk measures.

Because we utilize an organic management style, sector exposure will typically change over time depending on long-term expectations and current market situations.

Our strategies add value to our clients and our long-term performance reflects it.
